Studies in social science included role-playing
and many field trips. Students took on roles to
reenact the Salem Witch Trials with screams
that could be heard in nearby classes. Field
trips to the Graceland and Waldheim
cemetaries provided insights into the
socioeconomic and historical backgrounds of
the people interred there. A trip to the Kane
County flea market yielded many antique, but
inexpensive historical treasures.
