Our Time 1998

T he RCs and students of IMSA worked together to fight the bor edom that often occured while students were stuck on campus. When there wa sn 't work to do (and even if there was) the variety of off-campus trips offered kept students on their toes. Both wings and student life organized trips throughout the year. Often, when students were tired of the academy on weekends, they would go with their friends on different trips off-campus. Some included movie trips, trips to Chicago to see Rent, and an assortment of other activities. Some wings even went out for dinner and ice- skating. Junior Erikka Conrad states, "Off- campus trips add a lot to the IMSA experience." And indeed they do. Trips to just about everywhere around the Chicago area allowed students to take some time off from work and just relax and have fun with friends. They al– lowed students to bond with not only their wingmates, but their peers as well. Faculty also organized many trips to events away from campus. Math and physics teacher, Mr. Sloan, organized a multitude of ballet, opera, and play trips. These trips allowed students to enhance their experience by taking advantage of these opportunities to take a break from academics and get a smell of fresh air for once.
