I n t e r s e s s i o n 1 997 saw an interesting and enlight– en i ng Intersession, we ek of wo r k– shops wh i ch students enjoyed directly after wi n t er b r e ak instead of classes. In addition to educa t i onal classes, a variety of trips we re offered. The re we re academic trips to Ge rmany, New Or– leans, Co l o r ado, and Ar i zona, j u st to n ame a few. Junior Stephanie \ 2 3 L 2 S U s u k n b ^ i ^ Wu, who traveled to Ge rma ny for the three we ek GAPP excursion, enthused, "It was fun be i ng t he r e ." Justin Ramo s, who we nt on an a r cheo l og i cal trip to Cozume l, Mex i co, felt that what ma de his trip enjoyable was that it was "wa rm." Ano t her j un i or, Irene Cza j kowsk i, referring to her Co l o r ado trip said, "It was definitely an experi– ence to r emembe r ." Sophomo r es who we re j u st intro– duced to the idea of Intersession felt that it wa s a un i que opportunity. As sopho– mo re Aa r on Pa r ne ss men t i oned, "I liked the concept of In t e r ses s i on be c au se it p r ov i ded an chance to b r oaden my ho r i zon s ." Above all, the focus of Intersession is clearly to b r i ng students un i que learning options about va r i ous topics in art, history, and of cour se ma th and science. The 1997 school year saw all of that and mo re as students lifted their academic learning to n ew levels.
