By participating in such activities as Sound F/X, Dr ama Club, Poetry in Motion, Art Club, and Jazz Band, students were able to expand the pursuit of their individual interests and enjoy themselves at the same time. This year, Sound F/X once again amazed audiences with its intense combination of musical talent and enthusiasm. Their success was due much in part to the strong bonds among the members. "Sound F/X is more than an ensemble of vocalists; its a close, dedicated group of friends," explained Senior Kristin Krukenberg. Dr ama Club expanded its roster significantly for their impressive winter production, The Cru– cible. This play also experimented with laborious new construction projects, thus giving the technical crew a formidable challenge. Through Drama Club, students demonstrated their leadership and creative abilities, for every single production was student directed and run, with no adult aid whatsoever. Art Club's highlight of the year was a unique stress-relieving activity. They invited everyone to drop by 1505 for a special event. The only require– ment for entry? Two rolls of toilet paper, of course, and a taste for fun. When the participants finally deemed 05 sufficiently teepeed, they surveyed their tasteful interior redecoration with satisfaction. Poetry in Motion twirled, leaped, and spun their way throughout the year, putting on several performances that highlighted both solo dancers and group choreagraphy. The club promoted a wide variety of dance techniques, from modern to jazz to ballet. All dancers were welcome, whether they carried experience or not promoting an atmosphere of acceptance and encouragement. Jazz band filled the air with catchy tunes every week, presenting their final products at joint con– certs with Sound F/X. Their musical sensations featured several soloists every time, blowing the audience away with intricate improvisation and amazing melodies.
