Our Time 1998
G o Titans, Titans let's go... G - 0 LET 'S GO! With the experi ence and pep of the new Titan cheerleading coach, 06 RC Dawnn Grimes, this season was one of rebuilding and great success. Coming into the season, nobody really know what to expect from cheerleaders. However, through practice five times a week and with the dedication of both the coach and athletes, the Titan squad was able to exceed the expecta– tions of their coach, themselves, and of the fans. There is a general consen– sus that the leadership of squad members and especially of Dawnn was what held the close-knit team together through the bad practices and the excitement of competition. "I'm really proud of the way we came together to work as a squad. The trust we had for one another and Dawnn is what really carried us through the year," commented junior co-captain Jackie McKenna. Because of this trust and dedication, the Titan fans and even opposing teams were in awe with the cheerleaders' sharp moves, creative dance, and especially the new stunts. One of the highlights of the season included a competition at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, where the Titan squad placed 8th out of 19 teams, missing state qualification by 9 points. With most of the squad returning next year, the outlook for Titan cheerleading is very optimistic--so next year...
