Our Time 1998
M U v t i P o U t T he 1997-1998 school year at IMSA saw a product– ive season for girls' basketball. The teams, both varsity and JV, played like proud, talented teams. Th varsity team finished with a record often wins to ten losses, what senior Becca Brady commented as "a good year." Under the coaching of one of 1505's R.C.s, Keith Mcintosh, the girls, for the most part, felt as though they improved both in the game of basketball and in other aspects of their lives due to hard work, long practices, an Titan spirit. The abilities of the team were most promi– nently displayed during the last game of the season, on February 9, 1998, against Hinckley-Big Rock, a state ranked team. Team captain Jody Turrell led the IMSA Lady Titan; to a stunning victory on her and the six other seniors' last night playing varsity basketball for IMSA. She also received her high school career's 1,000 point. Turrell attributed the t eam's success to cooperation and players' support. "Although this was somewhat of an up and dow season, we always had fun and kept our head up and played with pride," she said. The IMSA players all dis– played this pride for their school, coaches, and team– mates, mak i ng the season one to remember. As Brady said, "It was a good year to go out."
