A c h i e v i n g G o a l s T his year, the b o y 's soccer t eam, led by coach Geo r ge Wende l, p l ayed the field wi th fiery de t e rmi na t i on. Desp i te the fact that they did not quite reach their desired numb er of wins, they still ach i eved a successful season. To the memb e rs of the Soccer team, it's not the numbe rs that count, it's the game. And if we me a s u re the t e am by the focus and pr i de with wh i ch t hey p l ayed, they we re wi n– ners in every sense of the wo r d. "We imp r oved t h r oughout the year. That was one of our most impor t ant goa l s ," r ema r ked Jun i or Oz Ahme d. One of the t e am 's mo st spectacular pe r f o rmances t ook p l ace in their regional game. Al t hough they lost 2-0, they put up a formidable fight, and the oppos i t i on was ha r d- pressed. The t eam also had to deal wi th the loss of a few key p l aye rs near the end of the season. Howeve r, they compen s a t ed and simply pu s hed t hems e l ves harder. The result was a close-knit t e am that refused to lose hope and spo r t sman– ship. They we re also encou r aged by the p r e s ence of fans who c ame to cheer the Titans on. Rega r d l e ss of the ou t come of a game, bo th the spectators and p l aye rs we re satisfied wi th their a c comp l i s hmen t s, and confident that they wou ld con t i nue to imp r ove as the season pro– gressed.
