sophomore Knghsh class. T h e N e v e r - E n d i n g S t o r y This has been a year of change for the IMSA English department. Both students and staff miss Mr. Evenchik, and Mrs. Taylor as well. She is working as an instructional facilitator, and among her duties is being a resource for first and second year teachers. But, there are also benefits to those changes for the English team, two of them happen to be this year's new teachers, Ms. White, and Mr. Lim. They are valuable additions to the Department, and have fit in the academy very well. As teachers change, so will courses and activities. As always, there are Discussion Classics, LitMag, and many other ones to choose from, but the faces of those seem to be changed. LitMag has worked on half of their usual funding, and is publishing the magazine here instead of sending it to a printer. And we have seen changes in the courses themselves. Mr. Dehaven and Ms. Regalis have collaborated this year to create a combined class of English and Social Science. In the same manner as "Utopia", "Narrative and the Historical Imagination; A Nomadology of Thought" has engaged the minds of the students here and blurred the distinction between subjects, integrating social science, philosophy, literature and even some fun along the way. Overall, the face (and faces) of IMSA English have changed a great deal, but Homer is still Homer, and Huck Finn will probably always be read by every sophomore who graces these halls with his or her presence. Some things never change..
