We consider our– selves ambassadors and bringers of good– will and cheer and thus based our decision on this. In the movie Goodfellas, the lead charac– ters did not display qualities like the ones mentioned: ambassadors and bringers of good will, etc. They were mean men tied to the mob who were involved in a lot of illegal excursions. We choose to use this movie, however, to show that one should never judge a book by its cover and that there are always two sides to a coin. Remember, "One should never make judgement on per– ception alone." Characters in Goodfellas were shady, and although this was true, one was still able to see the good qualities in them. They were loyal to one another; they were able to pull together and get through any crisis. Best of all, they cared about one another tremen– dously. These are characteristics that have been displayed in our hall this year. We have had students turn in money that they found, we have had students help each other out with difficult hall situations, and we have had staff pick up one another in times of need. We have a lot of resolve, compas– sion, and respect.
