L a d y b u g s This year the IMSA girls soccer team became an official IHSA team with most of its players having only two years experience. What IMSA spring team can show off a sporty shin guard tan? Or can have a good time getting muddy by slide tackling, shoulder- pushing or all-out shoving? None other but the girls' soccer team! Between the circle runs, leglifts, piggy-back rides, long runs, and ladders, the Lady Titans managed to have a lot of fun. The team saw a lot of improvement and began to come together. They even noticed that unity can lead to not getting beat up as badly in games. And when they were getting beat up? It was time to fight back—without the referees noticing, of course. The Titans are looking forward to an improved season next year. They've got coaches that work well together, uniforms that are really theirs, and a lot of team spirit—now all they need is a few more goals. above: Jamie Jackson shows us a new species of mushroom that suspiciously looks like a soccer ball, above right: Michelle Timmers and Anne Elliot show tthat along with an excellent cardio– vascular workout, good friendships can also be made on the soccer team, right: Christiane Lin shows us a new way to kick the soccer ball.
